Motoshige Mortar Bowl - White

Handcrafted in Shimane Prefecture with locally harvested Iwami clay, this mortar bowl features the signature “Kushime” texture—fine lines hand-applied by skilled artisans to create grooved edges for efficient grinding. Motoshige, a three-generation family pottery established in 1925, brings decades of expertise to every piece. The curved design neatly keeps the ingredients centered, making it ideal for crushing spices, seeds, and nuts. Its traditional Kimachi glaze delivers a warm reddish-brown finish while ensuring lasting durability. A non-slip silicone base keeps the bowl in place during use, while a handy pouring spout allows you to easily blend and transfer homemade vinaigrettes, dressings, and sauces. Pair with Motoshige’s wooden pestle for the complete set. Also available in black.
